EVALUATION PATTERN - NURSERY TO CLASS II

EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

DAV Centre for Academic Excellence has designed Curriculum Guidelines for classes LKG to standard II. It attempts to provide teachers with a complete perspective on education right from its vision, aims and objectives, scheme of studies, planning programme, methodology, variety of games and activities and evaluation.

The most important feature of curriculum guidelines is that it explains in simple terms the what, why and how of developmental areas of physical, motor, social, emotional, language, cognitive, creative and expressive arts, health and hygiene, nutrition and value education.

It gives insights to the teachers in skills and concepts, which need to be developed in children during the course of curriculum transaction throughout the year.  Behavioral objectives of skills and concepts are stated precisely.

It further provides a comprehensive range of games and activities to cater to each developmental area in accordance with developmental rate, pace and style of an individual child.

Techniques and strategies for lesson planning, dos and don’ts for classroom teaching learning processes are explained in a lucid manner.

Evaluation and Reporting Guidelines

Evaluation is an integral part of teaching-learning process which helps us to understand whether the learning objectives, laid down have been achieved.

D.A.V. Centre for Academic Excellence has prepared a document titled, ‘Evaluation and Reporting Guidelines’ comprising of Checklists and Cumulative Cards for on-going evaluation of children of Classes-Pre-School to class II.

The basic objective of on-going evaluation is to compare the past performance of a child with his present so that a future bearing programme is designed accordingly. Keeping this is mind, these Checklists and Cumulative Cards have been designed term wise.

These are also self-explanatory in nature, thus help the teachers to have a continuous and comprehensive assessment of the growth and development of the child in various areas of learning.
