FESTIVALS AND CELEBRATIONS

 

  RAKSHABANDHAN

 

Importance of the festival Rakshabandhan was discussed.

Story on Rakshabandhan narrated to children in assembly.

Rakhi making activity was done in class using colour papers, fevicol, sequins and satin ribbons.

Shown short story on Rakshabandhan on smartboard in Hindi and English.

Teacher tied rakhi to all students.

INDEPENDENCE DAY

 

Children came in white coloured dress.

Class activity: Flag colouring by.

They sang the song “Hum hongey kamyab”…

 

JANMASHTAMI

 

 

 

Children came traditionally dressed as Gopi and Gopika for the celebration. The pre-primary section was shown  ‘Jhankis’ depicting Gokul, the birth place of Lord Krishna and Krishna Jhoola.

 

Activity: Children made Headgears (Krishna mukut ) in class with help of teacher with different shapes of paper cutouts.

Janmashtami Celebration:

Children were dressed as Krishna and Radha for the celebration. The reception area was decorated colourfully with ‘Jhankis’ depicting Gokul, the birth place of Lord Krishna and Krishna Jhoola. A special assembly was conducted to mark ‘Dahi-handi’.

Toran making with cutouts of leaves, flowers, and matki was done as a activity to decorate Stilt Area.

Children drew Matki in their Drawing Book.
