About US
Library is a vital component of the educational ecosystem at DAV International School, Kharghar. Our mission is to empower students with the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to succeed academically and beyond. With a collection of thousands of books, e-books, periodicals, magazines etc. our library is a dynamic learning environment where students can engage with literature, research topics of interest, and develop critical thinking skills.

Library Services:
Borrowing: Students and staff have access to our extensive collection of books, magazines, and educational materials.
Research Assistance: Our library staff are here to assist students with projects, citation formatting, and information literacy skills.
Study Spaces: Quiet study area and collaborative work space is available for individual and group study sessions.
Events and Programs: Throughout the year, we host a variety of events, author visits, book clubs, and workshops to promote literacy and a love of learning.
Library Rules:

All the registered students and staff of the school are members of the library and are allowed to borrow books.

Books are not allowed to be taken outside of the library without issuing.

Students from class 6th to 12th can borrow books from the Library.

Students of class 6th & 7th can borrow only 1 book for 2 weeks (14 days).

Students of class 8th to11th can borrow maximum 2 books at a time for a period of 2 weeks (14 days).

Students of class 12th can borrow maximum 3 books for 2 weeks (14 days).

Students/staff can get the books reissued by presenting the book on the counter. The books will be reissued only if there is no demand for that book.

A staff member can borrow maximum 5 books at a time for a period of one month.

Books will be issued to the students, during the library periods only. No book will be issued or returned during the teaching hours.

Books should be returned on or before due date.

Periodicals, Dictionary, Encyclopedia, Project Reports, Reference sources and previous year question papers are to be referred in the library.

Marking, underlining or writing on library books, periodicals, and newspapers is strictly forbidden.

Reference books and current periodicals will not be issued to any member. These can be consulted only in the library.

If the books are not returned with in the specified time it will be viewed seriously and fine will be charged as per rules.

The librarian may call for a book at any time, even if the normal period of loan has not expired.

In case of book misused, wrongly handled or lost the person concerned will have to replace the book or pay the current market price of the book.

After reading make sure that the books, periodicals and newspapers are kept back at their respective places.

The members should take good care of library furnishings and equipment. Make sure the library looks as good when you leave as it did when you came in.

Beverages and Eatables are not allowed inside the library.

A 'No Dues Certificate'/No Objection Certificate by each student is to be obtained from the librarian while his/her transfer/ withdrawal from the school.

Strict discipline and silence shall be maintained in the library.

Students are not allowed to bring their notebook or text book for work completion inside Library during Library period.

Identity Card is compulsory for getting access to the library.
