Orientation Programme for parents

Like every academic session, this year too, an orientation programme 2019-20 was planned in D.A.V. International School, Kharghar for all classes of the school, with an aim to give a complete insight to the changes brought in by CBSE w.r.t the new evaluation pattern. The parents were also given an indepth understanding about the school plans and the wonderful school results were also shared in regard to both scholastic and co scholastic achievements and all the initiatives undertaken by the school to excel in all the spheres of education.

Since the school was observing the month of June as Environment Month, the Saturday was the weekday part of the same celebration. Students enthusiastically demonstrated the procedure of making seed balls and spoke about its preservation so that these mudballs can be taken some other place for the plant to grow. Secondly a skit based on the importance of education as part of their environment theme titled 'Padega India tabhi to badega India' was beautifully presented by the students of class IX.

To observe World Environment Day in an unique manner and keeping in tune with the protection of our biosphere, a plethora of activities was arranged by students of DAV International School, Kharghar with support from their teachers and the students presented the array of happenings in front of their parents who had been invited to the parents orientation session of the academic session.

To propagate the values of protecting the planet, a Vedic Havan was organized by Arya Samaj in collaboration with the school and vedic chants were rendered for the protection of our environment. Many events like poster-making by teachers and activities for students with theme on ‘Save Earth’ and ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’ was held in the school. A wide range of exhibition stalls were set up, which enhanced the promotional strategies for the conservation of mother Earth. Students demonstrated how to make seed balls, paper pens, candles out of natural based items to reduce the use of plastic.

Hands on activities were also held in the school by the pre-primary section to demonstrate the process of germination and conservation of environment. Students were also given awareness about the importance of forest and wildlife conservation.

The parents expressed their appreciation towards the exertions by the school towards their wards.

The principal of the school applauded the efforts of the students and earnestly asked all present to conserve natural resources and the existing natural environment and, wherever possible to repair damage and reverse trends.

To sum up, the first orientation programme in the school gave a clear insight of the aims and objectives of the new academic session 2019-20.

This initiative was planned in detail by teachers with guidance from Principal Seema Maindiratta who is the backbone of the school. Parents appreciated the programme.
