DAV International School, Kharghar, has made meticulous efforts to provide a rich library with books on a variety of subjects for extensive use, both by teachers and students. Cultivation of the habit of reading books and magazines, besides the ones in the prescribed course, is always beneficial in enhancing the students' outlook and personality growth.The library has books ranging from fairy tales, encyclopedias, fiction, science, religion, arts, architecture and general knowledge to cookery and health. The library subscribes to newspapers, magazines and journals that provide current information to the children.


  • School has a well equipped library. All classes are provided with at least one library period per week.
  • Students must carry the library card signed by the librarian. Books are issued only against the card.
  • Books marked, disfigured or damaged, will have to be replaced or paid for by the borrower.
  • The library has an open shelf system and students must help to maintain order and organization in the different shelves. They must put the books back on the tables after consultation and not just anywhere on the shelves.
  • Students are allowed to borrow books only on their own cards.
  • Students are not allowed to carry their personal books or CD’s or any other belongings into the library
